The collection consists mainly of correspondence between Daniel de Bruce Hack Sr. and family and friends. Business correspondences regard Hack's involvement in the Richmond Factory (Augusta, Georgia). Also included are letters in the 1840's from William Schley, Philip Schley, and Dr. Edward Eve of Augusta, Georgia; a few Civil War letters; and the reproduction of a letter from Daniel de Bruce Hack to his cousin William Hack, regarding Sherman's March. The collection contains receipts (for taxes, purchase of slaves, etc.); a reproduction of Hack's amnesty oath; and one unidentified photograph (possibly the Richmond Factory). The first item in the collection is genealogy of the Hack family.

The collection consists of two account books for the Athens Bobbin Mill and its predecessor the Athens Bobbin Works from November 1867 to December 1877 and April 1887 to December 1891. Volume one contains entries for customer or firm and includes the name, date, items purchased or ordered, and price. Additional entries pertain to wages paid employees and list name, number of days worked, and, in some cases, the amount paid. The first ledger also includes entries for letters received, answered, or sent and include the person's or firm's name, date, and address. Volume two includes entries recording employees, number of days worked, and taxes, charges for hauling services including name, amount, and size; and orders from customers or firms containing the name, date, items purchased or ordered, and price.

The collection consists of 45 account books that span from September 1959 to September 1968. The account books include dates, names of employees, hours worked, and rate of pay. There is also a folder of loose ledger sheets from April 1969 through April 1970. The loose ledger sheets include names, dates, hours worked, rate of pay, overtime, gross pay, taxes , insurance, rent, savings, and net pay. There are sheets from all three shifts. Included in the collections are four calendar/workbooks from the Carter Traveler Company and one from the Victor Steel Spinning Travelers Company. Also included is My Private Secretary, a booklet that contains information about mill machinery, bobbins, and production, in addition to keeping mill records. A safety award given to Whitehall Mills from the Georgia Textile Manufacturers Assocition for 1969 is also included.

Includes correspondence; account books, financial records, and receipts relating to Jones' cotton gin business (1833-1857); freedmen contracts; and legal papers relating to Jones' duties as executor of Marshall Keith's estate and guardian of the Keith children. The correspondence, mainly to William Jones, pertains to business matters, his guardianship of the Keith children, and family matters. Correspondents include Sarah Jane Jones Griffin, Arthur W. Jones, William H. Jones, and Sophie Jones. The early materials (1813-1863) pertain to the Isham Keith family and contain correspondence between Isham, Marshall, and Peter Keith.
